Rain delays British asparagus season

The ongoing April showers mean we will have to wait a bit longer for asparagus season. According to British Asparagus, the season should start in May and small quantities of the outdoor crop took place in the last few days of the month.

Asparagus season kicks off early

A mild April has kickstarted asparagus season, with many stores stocking a British crop in time for the Easter holidays. The season traditionally starts on St George’s day, April 23. Harvesting began at the end of March on a small crop.
