Sandwich tour offers ideas for Jubilee street parties

Friday, 30 March 2012 7:04 AM

Who knew sandwiches could be so much fun? As a summer of street parties approaches, you can get inspired by an activities drive by Kingsmill. The Big Lunch 2012 has enlisted DJ and mum of four Jo Whiley to launch the Fun Lunch UK tour.

The UK tour is part of an ongoing campaign to get the country in the mood for The Big Lunch 2012, which this year lands on The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend. The tour starts at Bexleyheath on March 30, and will travel the country visiting a different location every day throughout the Easter holidays, and for two weekends after that, finishing in Manchester on April 29. The Fun Lunch team will entertain all the family with games and activities and children design a dream sandwich from ingredients provided.

All children will be encouraged to enter their creation into the Kingsmill Fun Lunch competition, for the chance to win a Big Lunch for their street, including food and soft drinks for 100 people, street party decorations, a sound system, games and Jo herself as an extra special VIP guest on June 3.
