Lunchbox ideas with a cheese twist
Bored of the same old sandwiches? Cathedral City have teamed up with nutritionist Juliette Kellow to launch Chedds, a snack for children aged seven to 10 years old. Juliette has come up with some fun, child-friendly ideas for lunchboxes.
Each Chedds pack includes 100% real mild cheddar and, combined with a nutritionally balanced sandwich, wrap or pasta, they can help form a fun, healthy midday meal. Ensure there is enough protein and low-GI foods for slow-release energy, too.
An example menu could include chicken, pasta, pea and pesto salad, made with 150g cooked wholewheat pasta with 50g shredded roast chicken breast, 1tbsp peas and 1tbsp pesto; five cherry tomatoes; one Chedds Cheese and Toasties; a small bunch of seedless grapes (10 grapes); one pot low-fat fruit yogurt (125g); and a bottle of water.
Or try a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich (two slices of wholemeal bread filled with 45g tuna in water, 2tbsp sweetcorn in water and 2tsp light mayo); one carrot peeled and cut into sticks; one Chedds Bricks; one pear; one pot low-fat fruit yogurt (125g) and a bottle of water.
